Publishing
BCC publishes under the imprint Soul Choice Editions. Soul Choice Editions publishes Voice ≠ Speech: A Journal of Held Articulation and Critical Method (ISSN 2979-8477), an open-access journal. Published issues are archived on Zenodo and deposited with the British Library.
Members, contributors and related practices
Members, alumni and contributors write and work in their own names. Views expressed in their writing, in Voice ≠ Speech and in our broadcasts are their own, unless a text is published as a statement of the collective. Being listed as a member does not mean BCC represents that person professionally or commercially.
The independent practice of our founding director, Jade Foster (jade-foster.com), is separate from BCC and has its own policies. Where members hold employed or trustee roles at other organisations, nothing on this website represents the views or commitments of those organisations.
Our work
Programmes, commissions, partnerships and consultancy are provided under individual written agreements. Terms of publication in Voice ≠ Speech are agreed in writing with each contributor. Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance, and no contract arises until terms are agreed in writing.
BCC's consultancy is strategic and organisational advice based on professional experience. Where it touches on governance, employment, financial or regulatory matters, it is not legal, accounting or financial advice and should not replace advice from a qualified professional.
Shop and donations
Purchases through our Shop are made with Black Curators Collective CIC and support our work, including keeping Voice ≠ Speech free to read. If something is wrong with an order or a download, contact us and we will put it right or refund you. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
